Known to Exist is a new 8 song album from Chicago rapper Ash Wednesday. Produced by club/footwork DJ/producer Please of Chicago, IL as well as Ash’s in-house producers responsible for her first record Turn the World to Ash and her most popular track “Lakeside Views” (2017) which is still in rotation at radio stations in Chicago. Listeners will be hooked by the danceable up-tempo work of Please and further captivated by the decorative & blossomy tracks that are weaved into every other slot.

Ash is a white female rapper originally from Ankeny, Iowa. Her first time rapping on stage came in 2011 at Reggies in Chicago, IL when Bronx rapper C-Rayz Walz asked her to freestyle with him after he saw her rapping to herself in the crowd. Since accepting that cold invitation Ash has played numerous shows in Chicago, Des Moines, thrown live events of her own, and released several projects. Her past releases include Turn the World to Ash (2017), NoJulz (2019), singles “Getting Dramatic” (2020), “Solutions” (2020), and a 2 track collaboration Differences (2021) with Chicago artist Saint Icky produced by Please and sirDH.

Ash understands white people need to be extremely thoughtful when it comes to writing and releasing rap music. She thinks carefully about what topics, lyrics and delivery styles would be both captivating for audiences and appropriate for her. She covers distinctive topics and works with producers that create a non-conformist sound because originality is important to her.
